This page outlines the plan for the day as well as the homework assigned. Unless otherwise indicated, homework is due the following day. Portions of this page may be linked to lessons or homework assignments for easier functioning. Absent students are expected to consult this part of the website before returning to school.
Week of January 23rd, 2017
Monday: Today in class the students read chapters 2-4 of the Odyssey with their partners, and completed their packet work. Afterward, we had a denotation and connotation lesson.
HOMEWORK:
Tuesday: Today in class students read chapter 5 of the Odyssey and completed their packet work. After reading and completing the packet, students watched a short video of Odysseus' cyclops encounter which can be found in the Reading Resources section of my notebook. There will be a formative tomorrow on chapters 1-4 and connotative and denotative word meanings.
HOMEWORK:
Wednesday: Today, we began class by reviewing chapter 5 of the Odyssey. Following the review, students took a comprehension and word meanings formative. Lastly, we had our Author's language lesson and practice with some time left at the end to work on homework.

Thursday: Today in class we took a break from the Odyssey and focused on paragraph writing. Students who were proficient on their Troy paragraph moved on to writing their Perseus paragraph in google classroom. Students approaching advanced made edits to their Troy paragraph based on my comments then moved on to their Perseus paragraph and the students who struggled with their Troy paragraph worked in the hallway with me to relearn the parts of a paragraph and write our Perseus paragraph together.

Friday: Period 1: Today in class we continued to work on our Perseus paragraphs
Period 5 & 7: Today we read chapters 6-9 and worked on our packets.
