This page outlines the plan for the day as well as the homework assigned. Unless otherwise indicated, homework is due the following day. Portions of this page may be linked to lessons or homework assignments for easier functioning. Absent students are expected to consult this part of the website before returning to school.
Week of March 6th, 2017
Monday: Today in class students were introduced to their mythology planning packets. Following that, students took their elements of plot and craft structure formative using the story "Pygmalion and Galatea".
HOMEWORK: Finish craft/structure page of mythology planning packet.

Tuesday: Today in class we had mini lessons on verb tense and creating sensory images. After learning the material, the students had a chance to apply their knowledge to various activities. Finally, students had time to work on their myth plans.
HOMEWORK: Finish planning myth (copy of packet above and in Google classroom)

Wednesday: Today in class we continued our conversation about adding narrative elements into our writing and focused on narrative transitions, dialogue, and pacing. We then looked at a student sample of a myth to identify the elements when used correctly in writing. We used the final minutes of class to get started on typing the exposition and inciting incident of our own myths.
HOMEWORK: Type the exposition and inciting incident of your myth in Google Classroom.

Thursday: Today in class we began by going over the narrative rubric. Afterwards, students had a draft day for their myths.
HOMEWORK: Finish drafting the rising action and climax.

Friday: Today in class students had another myth drafting day to finish drafting their falling action and resolution. Students who finished their drafting moved on to working on the revision checklist and peer review.
HOMEWORK: Have an excellent break. Don't forget to read!
